The leadership of organized labour unions have confirmed the suspension of its planned strike over the removal of fuel subsidy.

The decision to pause the strike action according to a statement made by the national treasurer of the union, Hakeem Ambali, followed the intervention of president Bola Tinubu and the Senate in the face-off.

Hakeem said, “Protest suspended due to the Senate intervention and meeting with President Tinubu yesternight.”

Also, the resolution to end the strike followed the National Executive Council meeting of the Congress.

However, labour leadership is expected to brief the public shortly over the latest development.
