The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo  Barr Nnia Nwodo has extolled the quintessential qualities of the former Nigeria Vice President Dr Alex Ekwueme who joined his ancestors recently.

Barr Nwodo  made this known when the entire national executive committtee of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo visited the wife of the late Igbo leader and Nigerian icon at their residence in Enugu.

Barr Nwodo noted that the death of Ide Oko has robbed  Ndigbo and Nigeria of an Iroko and a man of immense cerebral capacity.

Chief Nwodo recalled the gamut of input Dr Ekwueme made to local , national and international issues and regretted that  Dr Ekwueme would be greatly missed  by Ndigbo and Nigerians.

Cheif Nwodo however assured the Ekwueme family that Ohanaeze Ndigbo would stand by them at all times  and would participate at all levels of the funeral ceremony.

In his welcome address , one of the partriachs of the  Ekwueme family Porf Obunmeme Ekwueme  thanked the President General and all the EXCO of the organisation for the visit and noted that Ndigbo  could now sleep with the calibre of people in the EXCO.

In another vein the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Barr Nnia Nwodo has blasted hoarders and hawkers of Petroleum products in Igbo  for making the products scarce and costly in the area.

He wondered what the DPR AND NNPC  are doing about this ugly situation.

In a statement through the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chuks Ibegbu, Barr Nwodo called on the hoarders and hawkers to desist from such acts in their own interest. He called on security agents to discharge their dutiies in this regard.
