For the Deputy Secretary General zoned to Abia state, a former Special Adviser to late Amb Raph Uwechue , immediate past President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Hon Chuks Ibegbu is said to be in the lead though there is speculation that he may settle for the National Publicity secretary of the body if the office is zoned to Abia state in addition.
In other states candidates are also emerging. The election committee is expected to be set up any moment from now. It is believed that anybody that has occupied any position in the body two consecutive time may not be eligible for the contest, though the Imeobi, the inner chamber need to ratify that.
