Okorocha kick-starts less-privileged school in Adamawa State

In an effort to fulfill promised he made to the people of Adamawa State of building a model primary and secondary school some few weeks ago, the Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has started work in earnest at the Gulf field allocated to him for the said purpose.

The site Engineer, Arc. Chidon revealed the work will be completed in a short period of time as there are all materials needed to fast track the work is on ground.

He added that the work is going to be in phases, the first phase is to build a nursery and primary school blocks and the other phase is for secondary school blocks.

Earlier, Okorocha, who is also the chairman of the Rochas foundation, said the construction of the school would start by January 2015.

Gov. Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa who awarded the land said the government can sacrifice anything for education in the state.

He commended Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo for the provision of a secondary school for the less privilege in the state.

He added that the state was one of the educational disadvantaged, assuring him of support from the state government.

The Governor converted the gulf field into Rochas Foundation site.

He said that the public interest surpassed the interest of an individual or group of individuals.

According to the state government would provide an alternative gulf field.

He said the gesture would go a long way in propagating the change the people had yang for.

“I commend Governor Rochas Okorocha for this kind gesture and I pray that the lord will grant his future political endeavors.

“I am calling on well-meaning Nigerians to take a cue from Rochas to invest more in education, especially by supporting the less privileged.

“We will negotiate with the golfers and provide an alternative place for them, because even the constitution states that public interest surpasses any group interest ’’
