Oluwakayode storms Ado Odo/Ota with 2027 assembly ambition

(DDM) – In what many political observers describe as a defining moment for Ogun State politics, Hon. Dr. Lawrence Kingsley I. Oluwakayode has declared his intention to contest for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat representing Ado Odo/Ota Constituency 1 in the 2027 elections.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that his declaration has already generated discussions across wards in the constituency, with several community leaders and youth groups hailing the decision as timely and people-focused.

Hon. Oluwakayode is widely recognized as an astute politician with deep grassroots connections.

Supporters describe him as a humble leader, a development-driven community builder, and a man who has consistently shown that governance must reflect the needs of ordinary people.

He is also a business owner and entrepreneur, a factor many say gives him a practical understanding of the economic challenges that residents face in the Ado Odo/Ota area.

Married to Omolayo Oluwaseun and blessed with children, Hon. Oluwakayode lives within the constituency, specifically in Iju and Sango wards.

Political analysts argue that his residency and constant presence in the community provide him with firsthand knowledge of the problems faced by local families.

During his declaration, he stressed that governance must go beyond rhetoric and be anchored on genuine service delivery.

According to him, Nigeria’s democratic growth depends heavily on visionary leaders who can bridge the gap between government and the governed.

He emphasized that the dividends of democracy cannot be felt if people elect leaders who are disconnected from their grassroots realities.

Hon. Oluwakayode further urged residents of Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area to seize the opportunity of the ongoing voter registration exercise.

He noted that voter registration remains the foundation of political participation and the only way for the people to ensure that their voices count in the democratic process.

In his words, “We cannot complain about leadership failures if we do not register to vote and participate in choosing those who will represent us.”

Observers say his message resonates with youths, many of whom have repeatedly called for a new generation of leaders who are accountable, transparent, and visionary.

The politician also promised to focus on youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and policies that encourage small and medium-scale enterprises if given the mandate in 2027.

Local residents interviewed by DDM said they expect a competitive race, but many expressed optimism that his entry into the contest would raise the standard of political debate in the constituency.

They argue that Ado Odo/Ota deserves a representative who is both people-centered and development-oriented, not one who views politics as a mere career opportunity.

As campaigns gradually build momentum towards 2027, Hon. Oluwakayode’s declaration has positioned him among the front-runners to watch in Ogun State’s political landscape.

Many say his combination of grassroots mobilization, entrepreneurial experience, and community service could make him one of the most formidable candidates in the coming election.
