“Only thieves run to APC,” PDP leaders slam defectors in Ovwian Ward 7

As the 2027 elections draw near, tensions are rising in Ovwian Ward 7 of Delta State due to party defections.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have cautioned members against defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

They issued this warning during a strategic meeting held at the Ovwian Community Town Hall in Udu Local Government Area, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.

The meeting focused on strengthening party unity and regaining lost political ground at both local and national levels.

Leaders emphasized loyalty and discipline as non-negotiable values.

Former PDP Ward 7 leader, Odjeku Matthew Uparan, said some members who joined earlier have now turned against the party.

He reassured the gathering that the leadership remains committed to party principles and unwavering in its political direction.

“There’s no other party apart from the PDP in Ovwian Ward 7,” Uparan said to thunderous applause.

He warned members not to be deceived by overtures from the APC, calling for loyalty and vigilance.

“If the APC comes, tell them to stay in APC, we are staying in PDP,” Uparan firmly declared.

His statement drew strong support from other leaders, who echoed the need to resist political distractions and realignments.

Party chieftain Lawson A. Oghoifo criticized former members who defected, accusing them of causing internal crises before leaving.

He described their departure as a blessing, claiming it brought peace and allowed the party to refocus on development.

“Na who thief nai dey run. We nor thief. So, we cannot leave PDP,” Oghoifo said boldly.

The statement sparked strong reactions from members, who pledged renewed loyalty to the party’s cause.

With defections shaking party structures across Nigeria, PDP leaders are reinforcing loyalty at the grassroots level.

They see internal unity as a vital strategy to rebuild political dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In Ovwian Ward 7, PDP is making it clear, loyalty is strength, and defection is betrayal.

Their message to APC and defectors is simple: the PDP is here to stay and fight.
