Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has concluded plans to change the list of N-Power volunteers, cooks and contractors under the school feeding program in the state.
This is thought to be as a result of the outcome of the Presidential election in the state where Buhari pulled over three hundred and forty thousand votes which is believed to have come from the beneficiaries of federal government’s social investment programmes in the state.
It was gathered that Governor Ortom who is furious over the development has instructed the Focal Person for the Benue State office of National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), Dr. Terris Damsa, to overhaul the list of beneficiaries of the programme immediately after the governorship elections which comes up on Saturday, 9th March 2019.
Our sources reported that the governor has already instructed his party chieftains across the state to submit names of people, mainly party loyalists, who will replace the present beneficiaries as he plans to overhaul the entire programme in the state.
When contacted, Dr Terris Damsa said his office is carrying out a clean up exercise, adding that the portal will soon be open for new recruitment after the elections.
“We are doing intensive clean up exercise of over bloated figures of N-Power volunteers, pupils and food vendors under the school feeding programme.
“Recruitment for the N-Power is done electronically when the portal is open and it is not yet opened. When the portal is opened, we would let the Benue people know,” Damsa added.
The N-Power programme was established in Nigeria with the aim of fostering productivity through skill development and valuable knowledge sharing and acquisition for economic growth and social development.
