Osun Gov’t assures uninterrupted social services amid opposition allegations
Osogbo, March 23, 2025 – Osun State Government assures residents that social services operate seamlessly despite opposition disruption claims. Spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed confirmed health, education, and documentation systems function statewide.
He refuted opposition-led misinformation, stressing schools and hospitals function optimally with strong community engagement. Governor Adeleke recently inspected Telemu and Ido Osun health centers, witnessing successful childbirths firsthand.
Additionally, his administration digitized state-of-origin certificates and LG identification, enabling real-time online access since 2023. Over 50,000 residents now obtain documents digitally, streamlining bureaucratic processes.
Meanwhile, opposition members toured operational schools and clinics they falsely labeled non-functional. The government questioned their claims, asking, “How did they access ‘shut’ facilities during staged visits?”
Furthermore, officials condemned media outlets spreading falsehoods, labeling them “chaos agents” undermining public trust. They urged citizens to disregard sensational reports and focus on tangible progress.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his pledge to democratic governance, rule of law, and citizen-focused leadership. “Our people deserve efficient services, and we’ll keep delivering,” he asserted.
Residents lauded ongoing upgrades, including renovated schools and tech-driven health record systems enhancing service transparency. A teacher in Osogbo praised improved learning tools and staff welfare.
However, opposition figures insist local governance remains paralyzed, citing delayed projects in rural areas. The government countered, highlighting completed roads, electrification, and water projects in 20 LGAs.
Critics also dismissed digitization efforts as elitist, arguing rural internet gaps exclude vulnerable populations. Officials responded, citing offline documentation centers and mobile registration units bridging connectivity divides.
The statement emphasized transparency, innovation, and welfare as pillars of Osun’s governance strategy. It vowed continued investment in infrastructure, education, and healthcare to uplift all residents.
Proactive measures like AI-powered complaint portals and community feedback forums now guide policy adjustments. These tools ensure services align with grassroots needs and priorities.
Despite political tensions, cross-party leaders acknowledged Osun’s rising school enrollment and maternal health metrics as commendable. National health agencies recently recognized the state’s immunization drive.
Looking ahead, the government plans to launch vocational hubs and agro-processing plants to boost youth employment. Governor Adeleke reiterated, “Our focus remains sustainable development, not political distractions.”
Citizen coalitions have rallied support for the administration, organizing peace walks to counter divisive narratives. “Progress is evident; we won’t tolerate sabotage,” a youth leader declared.
As Osun approaches 2026 elections, analysts predict service delivery records will dominate campaigns. For now, the government prioritizes governance over rhetoric, urging unity to achieve shared goals.
