Over 150 suspected bandits drowned after a boat capsized in Sokoto State’s Sabon Gida area on Saturday evening.
The incident, Diaspora Digital Media understand, occurred as the terrorist group attempted to cross a water body, with many unable to swim, leading to heavy casualties.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that initial findings suggest none of the occupants survived, but authorities have yet to officially confirm the incident.
However, security agencies have debunked the claim, stating that rivers in the area are not navigable during this period, making the incident unlikely.
The Sokoto State Police Command described the report as fake and unfounded.
