Over 24 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes, Military actions

Israeli forces detained a Palestinian man in Qalqilya after raiding his home, according to the Wafa news agency.
This operation is part of a broader series of military actions across the occupied West Bank aiming to strengthen security measures.
Additionally, Israeli forces seized three vehicles during a raid in al-Khader, located south of Bethlehem, to disrupt local transport.
Furthermore, they carried out home raids in Sarta, west of Salfit, and in Nablus, targeting suspected militants and gathering intelligence.
In a separate incident, two Palestinian brothers were reportedly arrested in Al-Doha, Bethlehem, raising concerns among local residents.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers opened fire in the Jericho Valley, injuring one Palestinian, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Additionally, tear gas was fired during military raids in the Ramallah village of Al-Mughayyir and al-Ras, south of Tulkarem.
However, no injuries or further arrests were reported in these specific operations, providing some relief amid ongoing tensions.
Israeli Bombing in Gaza Leaves Two Dead, Many Injured
In Gaza, the situation remains dire. Following an Israeli bombing on Maghazi camp, two Palestinians lost their lives, and many others sustained injuries.
Reports now indicate that, since dawn, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 24 Palestinians in the besieged territory, worsening the crisis.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen as the blockade imposed by Israel restricts access to essential supplies.
UNRWA spokesperson Louise Wateridge highlighted the severity of the situation, revealing that food supplies sufficient to feed 200,000 people for a month remain stuck in a warehouse in Jordan.
“It’s been sitting here for weeks on end, ready to enter the Gaza Strip,” Wateridge said.
She emphasized the urgent need for aid to reach those in desperate need, noting that people in Gaza are running out of food and medicine.
“We need this aid to enter now,” she added.
International Pressure on Israel Grows
The international community is beginning to voice stronger opposition to Israel’s actions.
The United Kingdom, France, and Canada have warned Israel of potential sanctions if it does not halt its military operations in Gaza.
Andreas Krieg, a senior lecturer at King’s College London’s School of Security Studies, told Al Jazeera that these warnings could set a precedent for other Western governments to follow.
“While it will not have a direct impact on Israel’s behaviour on the ground, it widens the boundaries of discourse internationally and makes it easier for other governments to openly stand against Israeli atrocities,” Krieg said.
However, he noted that a significant shift in Israel’s actions would likely require pressure from the United States, which remains Israel’s primary supplier of arms and diplomatic support.
Krieg also pointed out an increasing erosion of international consensus regarding Israel’s actions. “This taints Israel increasingly as a rogue actor,” he added.
Desperation Among Palestinians in Gaza
Palestinians in Gaza continue to express their despair over the dire humanitarian situation. An elderly woman from Gaza City described the promised aid as insufficient.
“Even the amount of aid they are speaking about is not enough for anyone. People would fight over it,” she said. “We can’t bear what’s happening. We’re fed up. We want to go back to our cities, our homes and our lives.”
Another resident accused Israel of misleading the international community by claiming that aid trucks are entering Gaza.
He stated, “This is not useful for the people inside,” highlighting the ongoing issues faced by residents.
Furthermore, he emphasized that displaced individuals are suffering from malnutrition, which worsens their overall health.
Children, in particular, are frequently diagnosed with severe deficiencies when they arrive at hospitals for treatment.
According to an IPC report, more than 93% of children in Gaza are now at risk of famine, underscoring the urgent need for immediate humanitarian intervention.
As violence escalates and humanitarian conditions worsen, calls for de-escalation and meaningful international action continue to grow.
However, a resolution remains elusive amid ongoing tensions and political complexities.
