Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has commended former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi for his remarkable contributions to leadership and mentorship, both within Nigeria and internationally.

The accolades came during a high-profile symposium held in Abuja to mark Dr. Fayemi’s 60th birthday and the launch of the Amandla Leadership Institute, a new platform dedicated to fostering leadership across diverse sectors.

Speaking at the event, Governor Oyebanji highlighted Dr. Fayemi’s enduring impact on governance and his dedication to progressive ideals.

Governor Oyebanji praised Dr. Fayemi’s sixty-year impactful service, spanning Ekiti State, Nigeria, and globally. He highlighted Fayemi’s role in advancing development and honoring predecessors like Adebayo, Fayose, and Oni.

The symposium drew distinguished guests, featuring keynotes from President Tinubu and ex-President Mbeki. Both leaders stressed Africa’s need for visionary leadership. They lauded the Amandla Institute’s potential to address poverty, inequality, and corruption.

During his milestone celebration, Dr. Fayemi reaffirmed his dedication to nation-building and Pan-African progress. He emphasized Nigeria’s pivotal role in solving continental challenges through future-focused leadership.

The event also unveiled Dr. Fayemi’s new book, If This Giant Must Rise, outlining strategies for Africa’s socio-political transformation. Attendees hailed it as a critical roadmap for progress.

Prominent figures, including Governor Aiyedatiwa and Senate Leader Bamidele, attended. Traditional rulers like the Ooni of Ife and Emir of Kano further elevated the gathering.

Concluding warmly, Oyebanji celebrated Fayemi’s legacy: “Ekiti proudly honors your achievements… boundless blessings await.” The symposium underscored leadership’s power to drive Africa’s renewal.

Ultimately, the event spotlighted Fayemi’s enduring influence, blending mentorship and vision to inspire solutions for the continent’s pressing challenges.
