Oyebanji supports Ekiti Parapo war Film production

Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State – In a significant cultural initiative, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has endorsed the production of a film depicting the historic Ekiti Parapo War, a pivotal struggle of the Ekiti people against oppression.

The Governor announced plans to collaborate with AL Notions Film Company during a meeting held in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.

He emphasized the importance of the partnership to promote local film production and boost the entertainment industry.

This partnership involves the State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, headed by the renowned Nollywood couple.

The film will narrate the Ekiti Parapo War, highlighting the resilience and triumph of the Ekiti people throughout history.

Governor Oyebanji emphasized the project’s importance in honoring the war’s historical significance and enhancing Ekiti’s cultural narrative globally.

“This production aims to capture the essence of our rich heritage and honor the valor of our ancestors,” he stated.

The Governor’s commitment shows the administration’s dedication to promoting the arts and fostering cultural pride within the state.

Special Adviser Yinka Oyebode announced that private sector funding will fully support the film, ensuring efficient financial management.

This approach preserves artistic integrity and vividly promotes the region’s rich historical and cultural narratives through engaging cinematic storytelling.

The AL Notions Film Company, known for producing “Lisabi,” will lead this exciting project with Ekiti’s Ministry of Arts.

Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, a leading figure in African artistic direction, heads the Ekiti State Ministry for this collaboration.

Adebimpe Adedimeji from Ijero-Ekiti expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to lead this initiative with commitment.”

She reassured stakeholders that the production team will focus on details and achieve high standards throughout the filmmaking process.

The film will shoot in various towns and villages across Ekiti State, providing an authentic cultural backdrop for the story.
