P-Square Fallout 2.0: Peter vs Jude Gets Messy Again

Peter Okoye and Jude Okoye in fresh feud

The Okoye family drama is back in the spotlight, and this time, it’s louder, sharper, and very public, given reports as of Monday, June 30, 2025.

Peter Okoye, one-half of the legendary Nigerian music duo P-Square, has reignited tensions with his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

This came after Jude shared a cryptic Instagram post that many interpreted as a jab at the former group members.

While no names were mentioned, the message left little to the imagination, and Peter wasn’t having it.

In his post, Jude reflected on past collaborators he claimed had turned their backs on him after rising to fame under his wing.

“They all have one thing in common: they were big, influential, and successful when I was shouldering them with my platform… until they got greedy,” he wrote.

He accused unnamed individuals of abandoning him, only to later fail and point fingers.

He also alluded to being falsely accused of money laundering and fraud — claims he framed as attempted blackmail.

But Peter Okoye didn’t let the accusations hang in the air.

He took to X (formerly Twitter) with a bold, no-holds-barred response, challenging his brother’s version of events and questioning his motives.

“JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE OLDER, DOESN’T MEAN YOU DESERVE RESPECT. RESPECT IS EARNED, NOT GIVEN,” Peter began, setting the tone for a thread that left no room for subtlety.

In a pointed rebuttal, Peter accused Jude of painting a false narrative.

He called out Jude’s long-standing attempts to diminish his success and even accused him of making incriminating statements to law enforcement.

“These are the exact same words you told the EFCC officials.

“And you ended up getting locked up in prison,” Peter said, referencing past legal issues involving Jude.

Peter further debunked the idea that Jude “shouldered” his or Paul’s success, making it clear that Jude was, at best, a hired manager.

“You were employed as a manager by Peter and Paul, and you got sacked — just like the two before you. Period!”

The singer went on to celebrate the gains of his solo career since P-Square’s split in 2017, calling it “more rewarding and profitable, both financially and personally.”

He noted that going solo has given him not just money, but peace of mind, something fans of the Okoye brothers know has been in short supply amid their years-long family disputes.

Peter didn’t stop there.

He referenced an ongoing legal battle, questioning whether Jude had responded to key allegations.

“Despite the fact we are in court!

“You still haven’t answered the question, ARE YOU A THIEF OR NOT? Ndi ori,” he wrote, using the Igbo term for “thieves.”

Ending his thread with a firm stance, Peter made it clear he’s done turning the other cheek:
“I have stopped playing nice and being the mature one while getting disrespected… Life isn’t about begging people for fair treatment!

“It’s about matching energy… Tit for tat!”

For fans of P-Square, this is another painful chapter in the family’s public saga.

Once the faces of Nigerian Afropop dominance in the 2000s and early 2010s, Peter and Paul Okoye captivated fans worldwide with hits like “Do Me,” “No One Like You,” and “Personally.”

After a bitter split in 2017, the duo surprised fans by reuniting in 2021.

However, their relationship with Jude, who managed P-Square throughout their peak years, has remained a source of contention.

While many hoped the family had turned a new page, this latest feud suggests deep wounds are far from healed.

Online, fans are split, some back Peter’s fiery independence, while others express sadness that the iconic trio is again at odds.

One thing’s for sure: the drama isn’t over, and Gen Zs on both sides of the Atlantic are watching closely, meme folders in hand.
