Guests at a wedding reception in Warri, Delta State, were thrown into panic after a POP ceiling suddenly collapsed at the event venue.
The incident occurred at the Wetland Hotel event hall located at Mofor Junction, Udu, where family members, friends, and well-wishers had gathered to celebrate.
Eyewitnesses said the ceiling gave way unexpectedly during the reception, causing chaos as attendees scrambled for safety.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though several guests were said to have been shaken by the incident.
Despite the disruption, the celebration continued outdoors, with guests relocating to an open area to carry on with the festivities.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been officially confirmed, but the incident has raised concerns about building safety standards and maintenance of event centres.
