Numerous former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Katsina State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The defection, led by Mustapha Inuwa, marks a strategic expansion of the ADC’s presence across Katsina’s 34 Local Government Areas.

The event also served as the official inauguration of the ADC’s state chapter, where new members received party membership cards.

Lawal Batagarawa, a representative of the National Political Coalition Group, expressed deep concern over the country’s economic trajectory and security landscape, citing issues like poverty, inflation, and insecurity.

Usman Musa Wamba, Chairman of ADC’s Katsina State chapter, expressed optimism about the party’s potential to combat critical challenges and make a strong impact in the 2027 general elections.

Aliyu Saulawa, a former APC member, criticized the APC’s failure to deliver on campaign promises, particularly in the North.

He cited the lack of security, collapsed educational system, and economic hardship as reasons for his defection.

The ADC is calling on the youth to support the party to enjoy the true dividends of democracy.
