Popular TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has publicly called on authorities to take action against fellow content creator Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, also known as Shank Comics, following a recent car crash that occurred during a livestream.
The incident, which quickly spread across social media, showed Shank Comics driving at high speed on a Lagos highway before losing control of his vehicle and crashing. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The crash, however, has raised concerns, especially as it is reportedly the second similar incident involving the content creator within a short period.
Reacting during a livestream, Peller questioned why no immediate action had been taken by the Nigeria Police Force or the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). He argued that the lack of response highlights inconsistency in how authorities handle such situations, particularly when public figures are involved.
Peller referenced his own experience in late 2025, when he was arrested after crashing his car during a livestream while driving along the Lekki–Epe Expressway. At the time, he faced criticism and legal consequences, including detention and charges related to reckless driving.
According to him, the differing reactions both from authorities and the public suggest a form of double standard. He maintained that similar actions should attract similar consequences, regardless of who is involved.
The situation has sparked widespread debate online, with many users weighing in on issues of road safety, accountability, and the influence of social media personalities. While some agree with Peller’s stance and are calling for enforcement agencies to act, others believe the matter should be handled carefully, focusing on safety awareness rather than punishment alone.
