The speech by the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi, initially scheduled at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) for Wednesday, September 14, 2022, has been postponed to Monday, September 19, 2022.
Mr. Obi was due to address the Chamber of Commerce and Industry today but was rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Handlers of the former Governor of Anambra State faulted announcement by Arise Television that Peter Obi pulled out of the event.
Team Peter Obi noted that the actual fact of the matter is that Peter Obi’s address to the chamber was postponed to a later date when when he and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will address the LCCI.
Mr Obi was, on Wednesday, sighted at the South African High Commission in Abuja where he met with ambassadors of countries that are members of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
Observers were urged to disregard the misinformation by ARISE TV that he withdrew from the forum as it was a mere change in arrangements.
Chief Tinubu is also due to address the chamber at a later date in October.
Meanwhile, other fifteen presidential candidates in the 2023 presidential elections are protesting their exclusion from the event. Read more.
