One of the loudest hypocrisies in our political environment, especially, in the Southeast, is that 90% or more of those who support Peter Obi for President of Nigeria are also among the most vocal supporters of Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB agenda.
Peter Obi is a wonderful man and unarguably one of the most intelligent and I daresay disciplined political leaders of our generation. He is eminently qualified to be Nigeria’s President, and could be, but…
Peter Obi’s supporters have to understand that he is a Nigerian and the idea of Biafran secession has to be strange to him. He cannot be aspiring to be Nigeria’s President and still be equivocal on the issue of Nigerian sovereignty. I understand Obi’s predicament in this situation. He cannot afford to be too honest, lest he loses the majority of his supporters, but…
Many of Obi’s supporters from the Southeast are IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu’s supporters and sympathizers, and instead of being an advantage, it is going to surely imperil his presidential ambition, because Nigerians will not trust a man who cannot denounce the secessionist ambitions of majority of his supporters with the presidency of our country.
So, if you truly love Peter Obi and wish he could have a chance at being our President, then, all of you should begin to say the truth about Nnamdi Kanu and his murderous IPOB. If you do not, I am sorry to tell you that you guys will lose both ways.
Peter Obi is also losing a lot of support across the Southeast because of the obvious sympathy of the majority of his supporters and sympathizers to the same IPOB that murdered thousands of our people and destroyed our homes and businesses. It won’t be a surprise if he loses all the States in the Southeast if he contests in the next election, unless he denounces the violence of IPOB and the criminality of Nnamdi Kanu.
