Armed bandits on Sunday invaded Wake village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving eight residents dead and 20 others injured.
The assault, which took place in the wee hours of Sunday, also saw an unconfirmed number of residents abducted by the criminal elements.
The attackers, who stormed the community in Agunu Ward in large numbers, launched a coordinated assault that left the village in chaos
This medium gathered that several others are currently battling for their lives in the hospital.
According to a report by counter-insurgency expert, Zagozola Makama, burials for the victims are already underway, while the community struggles to provide care for the wounded.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement in respect to the development.
