PHOTO: Trailer crushes 3 civilians in Oyigbo Rivers State

Three civilians were crushed to death on Saturday morning, after a trailer loaded with chippings crashed while allegedly running away from a group of tax collectors in Oyigbo local government area of Rivers State.

The unfortunate crash occurred in front of Oyigbo Divisional Police Station.

An eyewitness told News Band Newspaper that the driver of the trailer in an attempt to evade the task force team, had a break failure and veered off from his lane, crashed and killed three people instantly.

Other injured victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The witness further revealed that the driver of the trailer took to his heels after noticing the gravity of the crash.

“The driver was running away from the task force team along Imo River. So, during the chase, he had a break failure which caused the crash”, the eyewitness said.

Meanwhile, when News Band visited the scene of the accident, security operatives have cordon off the area as police begins investigation into the fatal crash.
