President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, as part of one-day official visit to commission some developmental projects in the state.
The presidential jet landed at the Nigerian Air Force wing of the Maiduguri International Airport at about 12.15pm.
The President was received by Governor Babagana Zulum, his Deputy, Usman Kadafur, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umaru Farouk, vice presidental candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Kashim Shettima, members of national and state houses of assembly, and some other top government officials.
This is the third time the president will be visiting Borno state capital in one year after that of the 17th of June and 23rd of December 23 in 2021.
Buhari is expected to unveil some humanitarian support to vulnerable persons and also commission some new projects within the state capital.
And as it is customary, he is expected to pay homage to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi.
