Israeli Defense Force has released pictures of the jet fighters used in launching coordinated attacks on the Iranian nuclear plants in the wee hours of Friday.

The unprecedented attacks dubbed ‘Operation Rising Lion’ resulted in the deaths of three top military leaders and nuclear scientists.

The top military officers killed in the brutal strikes include, Major General Hossein Salami, the head of the secretive Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

He was one of the most powerful men in Iran, overseeing its most potent military arm and reporting directly to its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Also killed was Major General Mohammad Bagheri. He had served as the chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, which IISS estimated could call on more than 500,000 active personnel.

The General Staff is “the most senior military body in Iran, which implements policy, monitors and coordinates activities within the armed forces.

Bagheri was sanctioned by the US government along with nine others close to Ayatollah Khamenei who have for decades oppressed the Iranian people, exported terrorism, and advanced destabilizing policies around the world.

The third ranking officer eliminated was Ali Shamkhani. He was a close aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and represented Tehran at talks which sealed a landmark agreement to restore diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia.

News Band understand that their deaths have sent shockwaves through the nation’s military establishment and could seriously puncture the Islamic Republic’s ability to respond to Israel’s attacks.

However, speaking on the attack, the IDF in a statement posted on it’s official Facebook page, said the precise attack was executed with dozens of IAF jets.

It said the first stage of the attack included strikes on dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in different areas of Iran.

The statement reads: “The IDF launched a preemptive, precise, combined offensive to strike Iran’s nuclear program.

“Dozens of IAF jets completed the first stage that included strikes on dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in different areas of Iran.

“Today, Iran is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon. Weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the Iranian regime are an existential threat to the State of Israel and to the wider world.

“The State of Israel has no choice but to fulfill the obligation to act in defense of its citizens and will continue to do so everywhere it is required to do so, as we have done in the past.”
