A couple, Job Isaiah, 40, and his wife, Glory, 30, have been arraigned for allegedly threatening to kill their neighbour in Ibadan.
Diaspora Digital Media gathered that the police charged the couple before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court on Monday for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and threat to life.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution counsel, Corporal David Adepoju, told the court that the couple committed the offences on October 18, around 7:30 p.m., in the Mogona Taye area of Ibadan.
Adepoju said the defendants threatened to kill their neighbour, identified as Zainab Adeyinka.
He also accused the couple of using abusive words and curses against Ms. Adeyinka, a conduct he described as capable of breaching public peace.
According to the police prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 249(d) and 86 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Kausarat Ayofe granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with one surety in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must provide verifiable addresses and adjourned the case until December 16 for hearing.
