Police arrest 4 boys all aged 17, who conspired, gang raped 16y.o & filmed the act

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four boys all aged 17, namely Taofik Jimoh, Oduyebo Samson, Adegoke Oluwatimileh and Adesanya Aduragbemi.

According to Police authorities, the four boys conspired, and gang raped a 16-year-old girl, name withheld.

Not satisfied with the crime, they boys recorded their various sex actions and uploaded it on social media platforms WhatsApp and Tiktok.

The incident reportedly took place on June 3, 2023, at Oshikomaya Street, Ikosi Ketu area of Lagos State.

They had reportedly lured the girl into an apartment, removed her clothes and gang raped her one after the other.

They also recorded their various actions with their mobile phones and uploaded same on social media after threatening to deal with her if she exposes them.

Unable to bear the trauma, the girl, however, told her parents what happened and the matter was reported to the Police which prompted their arrest.

They were later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation and were found culpable despite their age.

The four suspects have been charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court and if convicted, they may face several years of imprisonment, or even life imprisonment.

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, has meanwhile asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention pending the report of the DPP which is expected to recommend their trial in line with the Criminal Laws of the State.

An observer noted that boys behaved callously for filming the act and uploading same on social media then went ahead to warn the poor girl not to tell anyone “when the secret has been told to the parrot”.
