Police declared me wanted without prior invitation — Ihuoma Nneji

Ihuoma Julia Nneji, daughter of the founder of ABC Transport, Frank Nneji, has said that the Nigeria Police declared her wanted without first contacting her or notifying her of any complaints.

Over the weekend, Nneji raised concerns after her name appeared in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued by the National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja, listing her for alleged offences including criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking.

In a statement, Nneji denied the accusations, maintaining that she never defamed or blackmailed anyone, either on her verified social media accounts or elsewhere.

Instead, she claimed to be the victim of blackmail and threats from her former fiancé, Henry Uzochukwu, who she identified as the complainant behind the petition.

While sharing her side of the story, Nneji said: “I met Henry Uzochukwu in April 2024, and we began a relationship. Unfortunately, things took a wrong turn.”

She explained that the conflict started in August 2024 when she called off their planned wedding, scheduled for November, after discovering evidence suggesting Henry’s alleged same-sex interests.

“Further investigation not only confirmed his preference for men but also revealed he had been previously engaged multiple times without disclosing the reasons behind the broken engagements. I later learned that his last fiancée left him a week before their wedding for the same reason,” she added.

“I was deceived and misled by the many lies he told me.”

Nneji further alleged that after she cancelled the wedding, Uzochukwu began to harass and threaten her, falsely accusing her of running an Instagram account spreading rumours about him — claims she insists are baseless.
