APGA AMBASSADOR: BEFORE THE BUBBLE BUST
There were strong indications that following the multiple petitions from a number of interested individuals, professional/religious bodies, non governmental organizations and youth bodies to security agencies in the state over the trending sex scandal involving the Miss Anambra/APGA Ambassador, the Anambra state police command may move in this week against the Commissioner for Information/Strategy, Chief Tony Nnachetta, special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr Emeka Ozumba, the National Chairman of APGA-Chief Victor Oye and the management team of the state owned Anambra state Broadcasting Service(ABS).
The targeted ABS management executives include the Managing Director, Uche Nworah, Mr Don Onyenji and Gab Okpalaeze amongst others.
Disclosing this to our reporter in an exclusive interview at the weekend, the national Coordinator of Youths Association for Moral Re-armament Against Decadence (YAMRAD), Dr Kasumu Benson said he has been closely monitoring the actions of police and other security agencies on the matter.
According to him, it was shocking and unfathomable that week’s after the sordid and sleazy deals went viral all over the Internet and national dailies/discuss, neither the state governor nor his wife has deemed it necessary to react.
Dr Benson said his organization has been resisting believing a theory that powerful highly placed state government officials were actually neck deep in the sex scandal. That the story has it that the escape and going underground by the victim whose actual age was also still controversial was aided by the government of the state to an unknown location.
He wondered why the commonwealth of the state would be channeled to such trivialities that erode the lofty cherished legendary Igbo culture, values, custom and traditions in the name of beauty pageant, in the face of biting widespread social tension and hardship.
He urged the security agencies to move in immediately to apprehend all the listed ABS officials and every other person directly or indirectly linked to the sordid event.
According to him, the Ogboji, Orumba-born Chidinma Okeke was reportedly lured into the beauty show by some of these people for selfish financial reasons, unknown to her and the public thinking they were helping her.
But that, just like anything unlawful, she discovered late that as the deal got deeper it became continuously complicated and involving. That turning back had become almost impossible until she called their bluff when she had literally staked every kobo she realized in her one year reign appeasing them, yet they were far from being pacified.
Miss Okeke, an undergraduate was said to have been brought into the beauty show with naively banal mouthwatering promises, until they started coming up almost daily with mischievous conditions of the money mongering sex merchants who called themselves sponsors.
The civil rights activist had expressed shock that “As the sleazy affair continues to foul the ears, eyes and airwaves daily it was then very shocking and surprising that the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) whose crowned the victim its “ambassador”, alongside the state government have not made any statement concerning the offending drama. He then wondered if it was indeed true that the girls and others were truly used as bed mates to key known political and leadership figures in the state.
Benson pointed out some questions begging for answers including that the failure of Gov Obiano and or APGA from commenting on the matter, almost months after it became public as a sign of government complicity. Again, why has APGA who made Miss Okeke it’s torchbearer failed to comment. Why did the “queen”, against all known convention and pattern not allowed to crown her successor, instead she was de-robed and striped of her crown, car and other perks of office months before the next queen would be chosen. Where on earth has such been seen before, why? Was it not criminally curious that the moment she was pushed out the sex tapes surfaced the next day. Do Mr Nworah, Ozumba and company think they would railroad the whole world into believing that Miss Okeke would remain forever in their shadows and under their whims? The mess, according to investigations were just beginning and many would be stained thicker than the young inconsequential Miss Chidinma.
It would amount to a complete fraud for Nworah, Ozumba, the Anamnra state government and others including APGA to lure young girls to the so-called ‘beauty contest’ with well publicized gifts including car and other perks and then turn round to take away not only the cash but also the car gifts from the winner simply because she was tired of being used.
The world would want Obiano, his wife, APGA, Nworah and all others involved to come out jointly or individually to tell their level of involvement in the whole despicable episode before the youths of Anambra state chase them out of the state in anger.
Obiano may have his hands full even as he prepares to go into the last lap of his tenure, with a lingering crisis in the leadership of his party, now another unnerving crisis which the party unconscionably dabbled into has broken out. Why has he found it hard to fire Nworah, Ozumba, Tony Nnachetta and Victor Oye as a mark of his seriousness in erasing the mess and convincing the world that he’s not happy or a beneficiary of their wicked gambit.
Again, Chidinma has been speaking to her lawyer, parents and other minders/friends close to her about the monies they had fleeced from her. Who were these? Why did they force her to do the tape? Who were the people, because Nworah, Ozumba, Onyenji, Okpaleze and Nnachetta as well as Oye were all media professionals hence were all suspects because in the recording and spread of the sleazy sex tape now touring the world via the Internet. Today, every Anambra son/daughter including those yet unborn have become par takers in the negative effect of the misconduct of few wicked and selfish people. So let each of them tell the society the level of their collective or individual culpability or otherwise.
Because, already the All Progressives Congress(APC) as a bonafide Anambra citizen has through its Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife publicly demanded an explanation from both APGA and the governor, Dr Willie Obiano and others.
Other women group and gender sensitive organizations including the Federation of International Women Lawyers(FIDA), Justice Development and Peac Commission(JDPC), SAVI, Civil Rights Concern and NAPTIP, etc have been challenged to ignore the threat of withdrawal of sponsorship funds from the state government and rise to the occasion and fight to unravel all the wicked people behind the Chidinma Okeke sex tape scandal.
It added that it gathered that the young girl’s ordeal got to the height when she refused sharing the monetary and other birthday gifts donated willingly by her admirers who graced the birthday bash with the Nworah group in the ratio they proposed. She was said to have made reference to all other matters so handled earlier that she swallowed without objection. But that she was not ready to take it this time. They therefore allegedly fired the first salvo with the recall of her crown, car and other entitlements “to teach her a lesson”. As if that didn’t satisfy them, they immediately released the pictures and videos, and have even been threatening to release more, telling the world that it was so long that it would last about an hour. More so that the tapes were upto ten series! Hogwash! What else do they want to show again? Nothing! Every other thing they are saying is mere hot air as they have already debased both the young naive girl and themselves well enough because there is nowhere the sex tapes would be mentioned without Nworah, Ozumba and Nnachetta won’t be mentioned together. We are all waiting.
According to the APC, “The deafening silence maintained by the leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the face of a devastating sexual scandal that has spread morality and legality scums around Anambra State, is provocative, demeaning, condemnable and immoral.
“The unprecedented sexual scandal has further brought odium to a party and a government that is yet to explain the morality of taking N1.2bn security vote and N250m monthly provision to an unelected spouse in the current state of Anambra State economy.
“It is reminiscent of the depth of degeneration of Anambra State under the watch of APGA. “For an unimpeachable fact, Miss Chidinma Okeke, the female enfant terrible, who has defied all codes of family morality and all known social etiquette to engage in what Nigerian laws and cultures in unison forbid, yet deny same serially is a member and ambassador of APGA, which has paraded herself in the party’s apparel to public events.
“In addition she has remained a brand ambassador to the Anambra State Government which agencies she has mixed up with in business and pleasure. Yet when the scandal broke, all that the concerned agencies of the government under Gov Obiano’s watch did was to strip her of her crown, cars and paraphernalia of office as ‘Miss Anambra’ in order to keep more serious crimes covered in the bowels of unmerited immunity
“It is despicable that APGA whose leader and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chief Willie Obiano does not consider the action of a woman sexually engaging another, both pageant winners connected to his government, worth condemning or apologizing to Ndi Anambra and Nigerians for.
“Even when we have deliberately maintained a coded silence because of the sheer shame of dabbling into the issue and escalating it, APGA leadership does not think anything has happened to command a comment or apology?
“What happened to our values and our shame and sense of conscience under APGA?
“Where shall we find the people to clean up the entire mess being rubbed over Anambra Stateafter these irredeemable chains of unceasing mess and abominations would have been duped on our land.
“Does APGA really have a Chairman or Publicity Secretary in Anambra State? We know that, like their ilk in tattered umbrella, APGA is unable to say in one breadth who their National Chairman is. But does this translate to the fact that APGA endorses perverted sexual behavior which has been elevated a high art by one of their own who now conveniently shifts, rather than share theblames at the doorsteps of ‘ politicians and government…”, the statement stressed.
