A disturbing incident has come to light in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, where a 25-year-old lady, Promise Eze, was rescued by the FCT Police Command after being found unconscious and tied up in a hotel room.

According to human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, Promise had checked into the hotel on January 30, 2025, at around 7:00 am, with a man she met online, identified as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State.

Tragically, Promise was found tied to a chair with her mouth covered in plaster, and was unconscious when rescued.

The FCT Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident, which has raised concerns about the safety of women in Nigeria, particularly those who meet strangers online.

Harrison Gwamnishu took to his Facebook page to share the disturbing details of the incident, warning ladies to be cautious when meeting people online.

“The victim had checked into the hotel a day earlier, on January 30, 2025, at about 7:00 AM, in the company of a man who identified himself as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State,” he wrote.

The FCT Police Command has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The victim is currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital.

The incident comes on the heels of the murder of one Salome by his boyfriend Timilehin, said to be a gospel singer.
