Pope Leo issues warning as Iran- Israel tension escalates

Pope Leo XIV has called on world leaders to reject threats and choose peace amid the escalating tension between Iran and Israel.

He urged all nations to abandon nuclear threats and embrace diplomatic solutions based on justice and dialogue.

“The situation in Iran and Israel has deteriorated drastically,” the Pope wrote. “No one should ever threaten another’s existence.”

He emphasized that the world must be built on mutual respect, honest dialogue, and a firm commitment to the common good.

The Pope stressed that every nation has a duty to uphold human dignity and protect life, not destroy it.

He warned that violence only deepens hatred and weakens the path to peace.

According to the Vatican, the Catholic Church is closely monitoring the crisis. It said the Pope’s message aims to support peace initiatives and encourage dialogue over aggression.
