Portable withdraws from celebrity boxing match, challenges Anthony Joshua instead

Lagos, Nigeria – In a dramatic shift, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has canceled his planned celebrity boxing match against Speed Darlington.

Surprisingly, he now aims to face former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, backing his challenge with a ₦100 million wager.

The announcement came through a video on Portable’s Instagram on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Explaining his decision, the ” Zazu Zeh”  star claimed Speed Darlington was merely using the fight to promote an upcoming April event.

“I’m not fighting Speed Darlington again; I want Anthony Joshua with 100m,” he boldly declared.

Originally, the celebrity bout was scheduled for April 18, 2025, at Lagos’s Balmoral Convention Center.

However, Portable’s sudden withdrawal has thrown the event into uncertainty, leaving fans disappointed.

Meanwhile, his unexpected call-out to Joshua has sparked widespread reactions.

In other news, Portable recently revisited his feud with rapper Olamide, accusing him of insufficient support during his early career.

During an EchoRoom podcast interview, he criticized Olamide for only featuring on the “Zazu” remix, unlike British rapper Skepta, who offered more substantial help.
