Power Minister promises improved electricity delivery; Nigerians knock him

Published

The Nigerian Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman has disclosed the approval of extension of ‘Power Transmission Lines’ to cover various communities of Abia and Imo States.

Engr. Mamman made the disclosure on his Twitter handle, @EngrSMamman, on Thursday.

According to Sale, the federal government also approved the reconstruction of Substations in Bichi, Kanye and Zaki-Biam.

The new moves, he noted, will ensure improved electricity delivery in the country.

The Minister of Power tweeted:

“Yesterday, the @NigeriaGov approved the extension of ‘Power Transmission Lines’ to cover various communities of Abia & Imo States. Also approved are the reconstruction of Substations in Bichi, Kanye and Zaki-Biam.

Tweeting further, he stated:

Once completed, these projects shall help to expand the National grid and improve our ability to deliver electricity to Nigerians. The Transmission Company of Nigeria shall immediately kick-off the procurement processes for these projects.

The statement, however, did not go down well with some Nigerians who are wearied by poor power supple despite humongous sums dedicated to the energy sector.
