President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, highlighting the result as a clear affirmation of his transformative leadership over the past four years.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu celebrated Soludo’s decisive victory in Saturday’s governorship election, which marked a historic moment as he became only the third governor in the state’s history to secure a second term.
“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State. His overwhelming victory reflects the trust and confidence the people of Anambra have in his leadership,” Tinubu remarked.
The President commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
He also praised Soludo—widely known as “Mr. Solution”—for bringing innovation, discipline, and accountability to governance, noting that under his leadership, Anambra continues to live up to its motto as the “Light of the Nation.”
Reflecting on his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects initiated by the Soludo administration, Tinubu described the governor’s work as a testament to “good thinking and purposeful leadership.”
He urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to foster unity by extending a hand of cooperation to his opponents.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” he added.
Tinubu also commended the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for its victory, emphasizing that it underscores the strength of Nigeria’s democracy and the merit-based nature of leadership success.
Additionally, he applauded the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting a transparent and credible election, urging the commission to build on this achievement to further strengthen Nigeria’s democratic process.
