President Tinubu Mourns Victims of School Collapse in Jos, Nigeria

In a statement released by the State House, President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the tragic building collapse in Jos, Plateau State.
The devastating incident, which occurred on July 12, 2024, resulted in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries, leaving a trail of destruction and grief in its wake.
President Tinubu described the collapse of the school building as a “huge loss to the nation” and a “devastating development” that is “too excruciating to imagine.”
He extended his sympathies to the bereaved families, the families of all the victims, and the people and Government of Plateau State, acknowledging the immense pain and suffering caused by this tragic event.
The President commended the emergency responders, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), security agencies, and all citizens involved in the search, rescue, and resuscitation efforts for their bravery and selflessness. He praised their tireless efforts in responding to the crisis and working to minimize the loss of life and property in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
President Tinubu assured the people of Plateau State of his fervent support during this difficult time, promising that his administration will do everything in its power to provide assistance and relief to those affected by the tragedy. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Nigerians, and his determination to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, released the statement on behalf of the President, conveying his condolences and assurances to the nation.
