Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, Mr. Aliyu Audu has officially resigned from his position.

In a letter dated June 8, 2025, and addressed to President Tinubu through the Chief of Staff, Audu announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.

He expressed gratitude to Mr. Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration, describing the experience as an honour and privilege.

Though, he did not disclose any specific reason for his sudden departure.

“I write to formally tender my resignation as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, effective immediately,” the letter read.

“I remain deeply grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” Audu wrote. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

He also acknowledged Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, for nominating him for the role.

Audu was nominated on August 26, 2023, and his appointment was officially approved by President Tinubu on October 9, 2023.
