Paris Saint-Germain have been named Men’s Club of the Year at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, securing the prestigious honour for the second consecutive year after another remarkable campaign that strengthened their position among Europe’s elite.

The Parisian giants returned to the ceremony in London with a compelling case for recognition, having followed their historic 2024/25 campaign with another season of silverware, European dominance and outstanding collective performances under manager Luis Enrique.

Their latest award reflects a project that has increasingly prioritised teamwork over individual celebrity, with PSG demonstrating that sustained success requires more than expensive signings and star power. Their achievement has been built on tactical discipline, squad depth, attacking versatility and the ability to deliver when the pressure is greatest.

The defining moment of their 2025/26 campaign came on May 30, when PSG defeated Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest. After a tense 1-1 draw over 120 minutes, the French champions prevailed 4-3 on penalties to retain the trophy they had won against Inter Milan the previous season.

The victory made PSG only the second club in the modern Champions League era to win the competition in consecutive seasons, joining Real Madrid, who achieved the feat in 2017 and 2018. It also made them the first French club to win the Champions League twice.

However, their success was not limited to European football. PSG secured their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title, a milestone that underlined their domestic consistency and established another club record. They also won the Trophée des Champions, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, completing a five-trophy collection during the campaign.

Their European journey demanded resilience as well as quality. PSG overcame Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate in the round of 16, defeated Liverpool 4-0 across two quarter-final legs and survived a spectacular semi-final against Bayern Munich, winning 6-5 on aggregate after a 5-4 first-leg thriller.

The final against Arsenal provided another test of their composure. PSG could not settle the contest in regulation time or extra time, but held their nerve during the penalty shootout to complete a successful defence of their European crown.

A major strength throughout the campaign was the distribution of responsibility across the squad. Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha and Achraf Hakimi all made significant contributions, while the defensive organisation and midfield control helped PSG navigate difficult knockout ties. The team’s ability to find goals from different positions also made them less dependent on a single attacking star.

Luis Enrique deserves considerable credit for shaping that collective identity. Since arriving in Paris in 2023, the Spanish coach has guided PSG through a transformation that culminated in consecutive Champions League triumphs and sustained domestic dominance.

Winning the Ballon d’Or Club of the Year award again therefore represents more than recognition of a trophy count. It acknowledges a team that has turned European ambition into sustained achievement, overcoming formidable opponents and delivering under pressure.

For PSG, the challenge now is to protect that standard. With consecutive Champions League titles and another collection of major honours behind them, the Parisian club have established a benchmark that their rivals will be determined to surpass.
