The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has announced the launch of its 2025/2026 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (OSS) for Nigerian students.

According to the PTDF, the scholarship scheme will provide fully funded opportunities for Nigerian graduates to pursue MSc and PhD programs in top universities worldwide.

The scheme covers fields relevant to the oil and gas sector, and successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support, including flight tickets, health insurance, tuition, bench fees (where applicable), and living expenses.

The PTDF has partnered with several universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia to offer these scholarships.

Notably, the PhD program in the UK will be offered exclusively as a Split-Site Program at the PTDF College of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Kaduna (CPESK) in collaboration with Robert Gordon University, University of Strathclyde, and University of Portsmouth.

To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian graduates with proven academic distinction, seeking MSc or PhD degrees in fields relevant to the oil and gas sector.

The application deadline is June 4, 2025, and interested candidates can access the application portal on the PTDF website.

The PTDF OSS is a strategic initiative to develop local capacity in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

By providing fully funded scholarships, the PTDF aims to equip Nigerian graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to drive growth and development in the sector.
