Ramos to undergo medical tests with PSG on Wednesday

Sergio Ramos’ arrival at Paris Saint-Germain is gradually becoming clearer and clearer. After confirming that the agreement between the two sides is complete and only remains for the medical, ‘L’Équipe’ reports on Tuesday that the tests will be carried out on Wednesday.

The aforementioned media had said that the Sevilla centre-back would undergo the tests this Tuesday, but the latest information published on their official website indicates that the examination will finally take place on Wednesday 7th July.

Once the 35-year-old veteran passes the routine tests without any problems after undergoing surgery on his left knee in February, he will sign a new contract with PSG, having spent a whopping 16 seasons at Real Madrid. His injury problems in recent months prevented him from playing for Real Madrid in the final stretch of La Liga and from being called up to the Spanish national team for the current European Championships.

The Spanish player will officially become a new Parisian player on Wednesday or Thursday, after completing all the formalities at the offices of the Parc des Princes.

The well-known French daily also reports that Ramos will sign until 30 June 2023 with PSG, with whom he will begin pre-season in the coming days under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino.

If the contract is finally formalised, the Argentine coach will have three guaranteed centre-backs, as the Spanish international will join Brazilian Marquinhos and French international Presnel Kimpembe, which will consolidate that position at PSG. After midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who has already been signed, and Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos will become the third free agent to join the Parisians since the transfer window began
