RAMT backs Amaechi as ADC’s strongest presidential candidate

(DDM) – The Rotimi Amaechi Mobilization Team (RAMT) has declared former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as the most suitable presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

DDM learns that the group made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, where it highlighted Amaechi’s achievements in the power sector as evidence of his leadership capacity.

The group argued that Nigeria’s long-standing electricity challenges can be resolved with the right leadership, commitment, and strategic execution.

RAMT stated that Amaechi had already demonstrated practical solutions to the country’s energy crisis during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State.

According to the group, his administration embarked on an ambitious electricity project that significantly transformed power supply in the state.

They noted that the project involved the construction of 28 electricity distribution stations and seven transmission lines aimed at expanding access and improving efficiency.

The group further explained that the initiative boosted electricity generation capacity in Rivers State from about 70 megawatts to an impressive 715 megawatts.

RAMT described the achievement as a clear example of what can be accomplished when leadership is driven by determination and a focus on public welfare.

They emphasised that Amaechi did not wait for favourable conditions before acting but instead created the necessary environment to deliver results.

According to the team, the electricity project was not just an infrastructure development effort but a proof of concept that Nigeria’s power problems are solvable.

The group, however, alleged that the Federal Government at the time hindered the expansion of the initiative, preventing it from reaching its full potential.

Despite this setback, RAMT maintained that Amaechi fulfilled his promises within the scope of his authority and resources.

The group insisted that his track record in Rivers State sets him apart as a leader capable of replicating similar success at the national level.

They urged the ADC to consider merit, competence, and proven performance in selecting its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

RAMT also called on party stakeholders and Nigerians to support a candidate with verifiable achievements rather than relying on political sentiment or rhetoric.

Political observers note that endorsements from mobilisation groups are becoming increasingly significant as parties begin early positioning ahead of the next general elections.

The statement by RAMT adds to growing conversations within opposition circles about credible alternatives and leadership direction for Nigeria’s future.

As preparations for 2027 continue to gather momentum, the push for candidates with demonstrable records is expected to shape internal party decisions and broader political alignments.
