RAMT counters Umahi, urges broader national support for Amaechi

(DDM) – The Rotimi Amaechi Mobilization Team (RAMT) has pushed back against recent comments credited to David Umahi urging South-East voters to line up behind Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

RAMT describes the remarks as a personal opinion that does not speak for the entire South-East or the wider Nigerian electorate.

RAMT states that democratic choice should remain open and competitive, not framed as a regional obligation to any incumbent.

According to the group, voters across Nigeria deserve multiple credible options and clear debates on policy, economy, and national unity.

RAMT argues that linking development projects to political loyalty risks weakening democratic accountability.

The group condemns what it calls pressure on citizens to align politically for fear of losing federal attention.

In its statement, RAMT says performance, transparency, and future plans should guide voter decisions.

The team calls on Nigerians from every region to consider the record and proposals of Rotimi Amaechi.

It highlights Amaechi’s experience in public administration and national infrastructure as issues for public evaluation.

The group adds that elections should revolve around ideas for jobs, security, and stable growth.

Responding to references about Peter Obi and whose “turn” it is, the team says leadership should not be reduced to rotation alone.

It maintains that competence and national appeal should weigh heavily in 2027 choices.

RAMT concludes by encouraging peaceful civic participation, issue-based campaigns, and respect for differing views.

It reiterates that its appeal to support Amaechi rests on persuasion, not pressure, and invites public scrutiny of all candidates.
