Red Star Courier Company Presents Relief Materials To IDPs In Adamawa

Red Star Express PLC, a   courier company has donated relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Malkohi Camp, Yola.

Presenting the truck of materials comprising grains, detergents, cooking oil and clothes, the Director of the Company, Alhaji Aminu Dangana, said the gesture was part of the company”s cooperate responsibilities in giving out to the community.

Dangana said that  officials of the company led by him decided to come with the materials all the way from Lagos to identify and show concern to the plight of the IDPs.

“Our presence here is not only to present this donation but to identify with you and what you have gone through.

“With what we saw, we are not stopping here but also going to mobilize others  on the need to support government in assisting you and making your stay comfortable in the camp,” Dangana said.

Receiving the materials, an official of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), Mr Abdullahi Yakubu, thanked the company for the gesture which he said would be judiciously utilize..

“In this camp all donations are presented in presence of the IDPs who immediately take charge of the items for proper utilization.

“We don’t have cases of diversion in Adamawa camps, and I can assure you that the items would be judiciously utilized,” Yakubu said.

Mrs Fatima Hassan and Mr Nicholas Samuel who spoke on behalf of the IDPs also thanked the company for the gesture and urged other organizations to emulate it in complementing government effort.

Those who accompanied the Red Star Express Director included the Divisional Managing Director Freight,  Mr Tonye Preghafi; the Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr Olufemi Oluwole; and the Yola Station Manager of the Company, Mr Sani Ahmed.
