Former media aide to president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has kicked against the call to grant amnesty to notorious bandits in the northern region of Nigeria.

Sheik Gumi and Bandits

The fiery US based pastor was reacting to the call made by a popular Islamic cleric, Sheik Gumi Abubakar to grant amnesty to the notorious bandits terrorising the peace of the north after he paid a visit to them in their hideout in Zamfara State.

Reno who is known as Buhari tormentor in a statement said he respect Sheik Gumi but disagrees with his call for General Buhari to grant amnesty to terror herdsmen and bandits.

Reno wondered why Buhari will ban IPOB that doesn’t kill, and then grant amnesty to killer herdsmen. He said such disposition shows that Nigeria is not balanced.

He said, “I respect Sheikh Abubakar Gumi. But I disagree with his call for General Buhari to grant amnesty to herdsmen and bandits.

“Why would Buhari ban IPOB, who don’t kill, and then grant amnesty to killer herdsmen? It shows Nigeria is not balanced.

Reno further questioned the reason why bandits and herdsmen should be granted amnesty

“We can’t have unity without justice! What injustice are herdsmen fighting for that respected Sheikh Gumi wants them to be granted amnesty?

“Were they cheated and are fighting for their right? Were their resources forcefully taken from them? If we give them amnesty, let‘s also close prisons and grant prisoners amnesty.
