Reps Adjourn Till March 12 Over Failure To Form Quorum
The House of Representatives has adjourned sitting till March 12, 2019, after resuming from the elections recess on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara made the pronouncement during plenary on Tuesday.
Dogara stated that the adjournment was because the House could not form a quorum there were 10 members on the floor during the plenary.
Other members of the House present included the Deputy Speaker, Yussuff Lasun, the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Chairman of the House Committee of Rules and Business, Edward Pwajok et al.
ElombahNews had earlier reported that the Senate also on Tuesday adjourned plenary session over failure to form quorum .
It was observed that only ten senators were present in the chamber which included Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan.
Others were Senator Sola Adeyeye, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, Senator Ajayi Borofice, et al.
The adjournment, ElombahNews learnt, was to enable the lawmakers participate in the general elections.
