Elombah.com is in possession of information revealing why the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah is inconsolable over the recently concluded Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] governorship primary election.
Remember that Ifeanyi Ubah recently lost out in the said PDP governorship primary election which held I Awka the state capital on 28 August 2017.
The election saw the emergence of Mr Oseloka H. Obaze as the party flag bearer for the main governorship election.
During the primaries, Chief Ubah along with Senator Stella Oduah, a member of the House of Representatives, Lynda Ikpeazu and former Minister of State for Transportation, Prince John Emeka had staged a protest.
One of their causes for agitation was that the delegates’ list for the election was fake.
This was further confirmed by Ubah who made his stance known in a three-page press release issued on September 19, 2017, signed by himself and obtained by elombah.com.
In the Elombah.com report, titled “Anambra PDP Primary Election A Sham, Illegality —Ifeanyi Ubah”, he said:
“To my greatest dismay and in tandem with the sinister plans of those who were saddled with the responsibility of ensuring a free and fair ad-hoc ward delegate election and consequently, primary election, THE LIST OF DELEGATES were hoarded, starving aspirants of the most important tool needed for the campaign to commence.” [Emphasis ours]
However, an informant expounded on the main reason behind the oil magnate’s anguish, who disclosed that was he shared sumptuous amount to the supposed delegate for their votes.

This, according to our source, explained why he raised alarm when a new list was presented shortly before the election.
This was further confirmed by Mr Ubah himself, in the statement mentioned earlier, who said:
“While waiting for the list from the party, I wrote to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) REQUESTING FOR CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of the ad hoc ward delegate election they had monitored.
“This request was granted and certified true copies of the ELECTED DELEGATES WERE MADE AVAILABLE TO ME AND I STARTED REACHING OUT TO THESE DELEGATES.” [Again emphasis ours].
According to the source, he acquired a supposedly list of delegates early from a source who had collected large amount dollars.
To his utter shock and dismay, at the venue, he saw totally different delegates away from the list he had acquired and went berserk.
Following the primaries, Ubah issued the above-mentioned statement condemning the whole process.
He said: “The recently concluded Anambra PDP Governorship Primary election conducted on August 28th, 2017 was all but a show of shame.
“It was marred by obvious irregularities, leaving little to be desired and more questions than answers from the relevant authorities and party officials.
“At best, to any discerning mind, the primary election was a perfection of a preconceived orchestrated plot by His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State and His Excellency, the Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi alongside selected cabal members of the several committees for this election set up by PDP.”
He added that the election was designed “to rob well-meaning Anambrarians off their earnest yearning for a candidate and eventual Governor with a robust pedigree and a time-tested proof of love for the people.”
In reaction, PDP slammed a suspension on the oil magnate “over his disparaging and unfounded allegations against some party members and elders”.
Announcing the suspension of Ifeanyi Ubah by the National Caretaker Committee, the National Publicity Secretary/Acting National Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye stated:
“Dr. Ubah refused to answer to a query issued to him by the National Caretaker Committee over his disparaging and unfounded allegations leveled against some leaders and members of the party on national television.
“His case has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action,” he stressed.

An adamant Ubah, however, said that PDP made mockery of itself by suspending him.
He wondered why PDP will rather chose to suspend him instead of addressing the allegations of injustice he levelled against it.
Ubah, while accusing PDP of injustice, said that he had nothing to gain in his years of associating with the party, rather has been throwing in his own.
He stressed that the allegation by the National Working Committee of the party is ridiculous as he had not gained anything from the party.
