Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara signing the State’s 2025 Appropriation bill into law

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has signed the 2025 Appropriation bill into law. This happened on Thursday.

The State House of Assembly approved a spending estimate of over One Trillion Naira for 2025. This was after the Governor presented the budget.

At the ceremony, Governor Fubara said his team aims to do even better than in 2024. He expressed his commitment to surpassing past achievements.

The Governor presented a budget of N1.88 trillion to the lawmakers on December 30, 2024. This budget is called the “Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development.” It focuses on sustainable economic growth and improving people’s lives.

The main goals for 2025 include boosting agriculture, economic growth, and education. Healthcare, infrastructure, and social investment are also priorities.

The Governor also mentioned that Rivers State has only one House of Assembly. He is led by Victor Oko-Jumbo.

He stated that the issue of lawmakers switching parties is resolved. The matter is now closed.

Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo expressed hope for a prosperous 2025. He believes it will be a year of abundance for Rivers State.

With the budget settled, Governor Siminalayi Fubara is ready to start strong. He promises to put the people’s interests first.
