Ronaldo fan kills fellow Nigerian Messi supporter in India

An inoffensive birthday row suddenly turned deadly in India when the mild orgy turned into an argument over the ‘respective merits’ of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to reports from Mumbai, India, the duo Nigerian nationals, Obinna Michael Durumchukwa and Nwabu Chukwuma became embroiled in a heated dispute while celebrating the former’s birthday.

Things happened too fast and before long, Messi fan Durumchukwa, 34, reportedly grew irate during the course of the argument and threw a glass at Ronaldo fan Chukwuma.

The glass smashed against the wall as it missed the 22-year-old, who allegedly responded by picking up the broken shards and stabbing his friend, the Hindustan Times reported.

Local police Chief Kiran Kabadi confirmed that a Nigerian national had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“We have arrested the accused for murder and are investigating whether the murder was actually the outcome of a minor argument,” NDT reported Kabadi as saying.

Meanwhile, both Messi and Ronaldo are in faraway Barcelona and Madrid, both in Spain relishing their La Liga conquests over the weekend.

It could be recalled that Messi had scored two goals I the 4-0 mauling of Eibar, while Ronaldo hit four goals in the 7-1 demolition of Celta Vigo.
