RSG to intensify Infrastructural Development
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that his administration will continue to pursue infrastructural development in partnership with relevant professionals .
Speaking at a state dinner for delegates of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) at the Government House , Port Harcourt on Wednesday night, the governor noted that the administration will always work with Quantity Surveyors to achieve the desired development of the state .
The State Governor noted that by partnering with them as professionals, their ideas and contributions would go a long way to impacting government efforts in developing the state in line with the New Rivers Vision.
He lauded members of the Institute for choosing the state for their workshop and Annual General Meeting in the state, saying it will afford them the opportunity to get the correct information about developments in the state .
He alerted the quantity Surveyors of the plots by the police and INEC to ignite crisis in the state through the manipulation of the Electoral Process aimed at rigging the forthcoming rerun elections
The governor also told his guests of recent happenings in the state concerning the printing of fake electoral materials by members of the All Progressives Congress in collaboration with INEC. He pointed out that the transfer of those arrested to the Police Zone Six, Calabar by the police high command is aimed at bungling the case .
In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Emma Okah noted that the State government is geared towards transforming the infrastructure of the state.
He urged the quantity surveyors to explore the potentials of the state and be ambassadors of the state after their annual conference.
In her speech, the President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Mrs. Mercy Torkwase Iyortyer lauded Governor Wike for his development strides which are significant to the people of the state.
