Peru make World Cup return after 36-year absence

Peru certainly had the better of the opening 25 minutes and often exposed the Danish right side.

However, the Danes slowly awoke and began to find Christian Eriksen in open space in midfield.

It will be a big blow that they lost William Kvist to injury during the first half and with Lasse Schone replacing him, one might find the Danes having more attacking intent in the second half.

But Age Hareide’s men will be thanking their lucky stars for Peru’s wasted penalty.
