(DDM) – Samsung Electronics has unveiled what it describes as the world’s first Micro RGB display technology, positioning it as the next major leap forward in television innovation.

DDM gathered that the technology debuts in a massive 115-inch display, showcasing “exceptional color accuracy” through the use of sub-100-micrometer LEDs.

According to Samsung, the proprietary Micro RGB arrangement positions individually controlled red, green, and blue LEDs in an ultra-fine pattern behind the panel.

This architecture enables precision control over each individual RGB LED, producing a richer and more realistic color experience.

The company said its new AI-driven display engine analyzes every frame in real time, optimizing color output for unparalleled vibrancy.

The system’s “Micro RGB Color Booster Pro” feature detects scenes with muted tones and automatically enhances colors across all content, aiming to deliver a more vivid and immersive viewing experience.

Samsung has also integrated an upgraded version of its voice assistant, “Smarter Bixby,” now powered by generative AI. The display is further protected by Samsung Knox security, a system typically associated with mobile devices but now adapted for advanced home electronics.

A standout specification is the display’s ability to achieve 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color spectrum, a professional broadcast standard that ensures precise reproduction of colors. The unit also incorporates “Glare Free” technology, significantly reducing reflections even in brightly lit rooms.

The Micro RGB platform is set to launch first in South Korea before expanding to the US and other global markets. Samsung has indicated that multiple sizes will be introduced to cater to diverse customer preferences.

Industry analysts note that the BT.2020 compliance and Micro RGB precision control represent a major step toward professional-grade visuals in consumer televisions.

The technology comes amid an increasingly competitive TV market, where rivals such as LG, Sony, and TCL are pushing the boundaries with OLED, QD-OLED, and Mini LED technologies. Samsung’s move into Micro RGB positions it to compete on both image quality and technological innovation.

Samsung has also promised up to seven years of software updates for the Tizen OS powering the display, a move aimed at ensuring long-term functionality and consumer trust in premium electronics.

With AI integration, ultra-high color fidelity, and enhanced durability, Samsung’s Micro RGB displays could set a new industry benchmark for high-end home entertainment systems.
