Saraki/CCT Acquittal: Sowore, Omisore Fight Dirty, Leak Secrets

Following the acquittal of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal [CCT], the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore and the media aide of Saraki, Mr Bamikole Omisore have engaged each other in war of words.

Sahara Reporters’ Sowore fired the first salvo, alleging that Saraki paid a whopping $2 million to CCT’s Justice Danladi Umar to secure his freedom.

Many Nigerians, of course, bought into the allegation considering the abrupt and fantastic manner the case ended on Wednesday, June 14.

Mr Omisore returned fire, accusing Sowore of extortion, saying he demanded money, in dollar currency, from Saraki which was not honoured, hence the tantrums.

Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote:

“@yelesowore everyone knows you have strong appetite for $$$, if you had evidence of $2 million bribe, you will blow whistle”

Describing Sowore as a fraud and blackmailer, he wrote:

“You are a fraud & days of fake news [are] coming to an end. Nigerians are wiser, you can’t use propaganda to extort.

“I know this is a personal loss for you. No more excuse for you to milk your pay masters to use CCT to blackmail.”

“OMOYELE SOWORE is a THIEF, BARAWO. You cannot use your platform to blackmail Saraki to get $$$ [dollars].”

Describing Saraki’s victory as victory for the rule of law, democracy, the judiciary, and justice, but a loss to propagandists, he stated:

“The victory from CCT today is victory for democracy, victory for rule of law. Loss for propagandist like @YeleSowore

“I’m sure if the prosecution had a case or we paid @YeleSowore as demanded. I’m sure it will be justice even with same judges in your eyes.”

Responding, Sowore threw up a WhatsApp exchange from the archives on his Facebook page between him and Omisore which he titled “For the sake of the unwary…”

Trying to clear himself of any mischief, he wrote:

“A Conscience That Can’t Be Bought Or Sold…This is @MrBanksOmishore pleading with @YeleSowore to take it easy on @bukolasaraki in October 2016.

“This was after they resolved their “differences” with the Lagos landlord, Jagaban.

“Thinking I could be appeased Bukola Saraki social media water carrier Bamikole Omishore was sent to plead with me to take it easy…

“But my principled struggle for justice predates their current political issues.

“I started the fight against Saraki in 2005 when I stumbled upon what he bought with funds stolen from Kwarans and bank customers at SGBN.

“Saraki may be able to buy judgement(s) but he can’t buy justice!”

Yes, even the age-long sworn enemy of Sowore, Senator Dino Melaye tried to join the frenzy when he retweeted Omisore’s tweets portraying Sowore as an extioner.
