Second batch of Lagos Pilgrims arrives safely in Jordan
In the early hours of Saturday, February 8, 2025, the second group of Lagos State Christian pilgrims landed successfully in Jordan. Consequently, they are eager to commence their spiritual journey and explore significant religious sites together.
The group includes 122 enthusiastic pilgrims, who received a warm welcome from local officials and religious leaders upon arrival. Under the guidance of esteemed figures, they will embark on a faith-enriching experience filled with cultural insights and spiritual growth.
Mr. Adewunmi Gbolahan Ogunsanya, Permanent Secretary of Lagos State’s Ministry of Home Affairs, effectively led the delegation.
In addition, prominent leaders such as Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe and Bishop Prof. Rufus Oguntuase actively supported the mission.
Earlier, Mrs. Gbafe addressed the departing pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of integrity while urging them to represent Lagos State exemplarily.
Her speech reinforced the delegation’s commitment to upholding the state’s values.
She encouraged them to approach the pilgrimage with reverence, embodying faith, discipline, and respect throughout their enriching journey.
This development follows the successful return of the first batch of pilgrims on January 1, 2025, marking progress. That initial group completed a spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage, visiting holy sites in Israel and Jordan, creating lasting memories.
The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board remains instrumental in organizing these pilgrimages, ensuring participants feel supported throughout their stay. Their commitment to promoting spiritual growth and cultural exchange is evident in the meticulous planning of every detail.
As the second batch begins their pilgrimage in Jordan, they expect to visit key biblical sites and participate in reflective activities. These experiences aim to deepen their faith and enhance their understanding of Christian heritage, fostering a lasting connection.
The state government expressed its confidence in the group’s ability to represent Lagos with dignity and grace.
The pilgrimage program underscores Lagos State’s dedication to promoting religious harmony and providing opportunities for spiritual enrichment among its residents.
