The Nigerian Senate has invited the National Security Adviser, NSA, and all the Security Chiefs to brief the Senate in a closed session on their efforts so far at recovering the #ChibokGirls.
The Senate accordingly resolved to mandate the Security Agencies to do everything humanly possible to ensure the release of the #ChibokGirls
The Senate made the order when the issue of the missing Chibok Girls was being debated today in the floor of the National Assembly.
The kidnapping of the 276 girls triggered the global social media campaign #BringBackOurGirls, involving US first lady Michelle Obama and a host of celebrities.
But despite their efforts, most of the girls are still missing.
Meanwhile, hundreds of parents are holding a march in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, to demand the government does more to find their daughters.
They blame the previous government for doing nothing when the abduction took place and now the current administration for failing to devote enough resources to the search.
The Senate today resolved to commend the #BBOG Group for their doggedness in the campaign for the release of the #ChibokGirls
The Senate resolves to empathise with the parents and the entire people of Chibok over this ugly incident that took place in their community
